Athletic Bilbao Match News

Athletic Bilbao is currently in a series of two matches without a victory in all competitions. Last weekend they were defeated in Sevilla against Betis by 1:0 and before that, they drew against Rapid in Austria by 1:1. However, that draw was enough for second place finish in their Europa League group and they qualified for the knockout phase of the competition. In Primera, they recorded two victories, one draw and two defeats in the last five matches. However, they are playing much better at home than in away matches, with five victories and one draw in the last six matches. In fact, only Barcelona recorded a victory in Bilbao in this season.

Injuries and suspensions: Oscar de Marcos is injured, Gorka Elustondo is doubtful, while Aymeric Laporte is suspended for the forthcoming match.

Celta Vigo Match News

Celta was in a series of five matches without a defeat in all competitions, before Sevilla hammered them in Vigo last weekend, by 3:0. Like Athletic Bilbao, Celta finished second in their Europa League group and qualified for the knockout phase of the competition. In Primera, they won two, lost two and drew one match in the previous five encounters, but they are in a bad away form - they failed to win in their last four matches and they conceded 12 goals in those encounters!

Injuries and suspensions: Fabian Orellana and Carles Planas are injured for the forthcoming match.

In their previous ten matches, Athletic Bilbao recorded six victories, Celta recorded two victories, while two matches ended as a draw. Athletic won the last three games these teams played against each other and their fourth victory in a row is near.
