Both teams are coming into the game after winning the last one. The Bucks had an easy job in Atlanta with 117-106 victory and had great shooting display (54.3% from the field along with 50% from 3-point). They have 4-2 record so far, but both of their losses came on the home court, so this game will be a good test for them to defend their ground.

OKC was even more dominant in the last game, as they blown out the young Bulls in Chicago 101-69 for 3-3 overall record (1-2 on the road). They are 9th in the West, a place where this team doesn’t belong, and the motivation will be there in tonight’s game to bounce back into Playoff picture.

Both teams are 2-1 in the last three games, with some mixed performances from the start of the season. This should not be surprising because we’re only a few games into the season, and the teams are still figuring all things out on the court. This particularly relates to the Thunder, who suffered big roster changes over the summer, and will take time for them to get into the rhythm.

MATCHUP TO WATCH (GIANNIS v RUSSEL): MVP vs MVP?
After winning NBA Most Improved Player award last season, Giannis Antetokounmpo is on another level this year. The Greek Freak is currently the league’s best scorer with unreal 34.7 points per game. Along with that, Giannis grabs 10.7 rebounds and dishes 5.5 assists, while snapping 2.0 steals per game. He’s getting praises all over the place for his performances, and the last one came from Thunder coach Billy Donovan prior to the game.

These early impressive displays have put Giannis at the top of MVP conversation. And tonight will be a great opportunity for him to justify that as last season’s MVP is coming in town. Russel Westbrook is yet again flirting with triple-double average (20.8 pts, 9.8 reb, 12.2 ast). He collected 3 triple-doubles already, and while his scoring has declined this season, he has a great supporting cast of superstars to compensate scoring deficit.

There is no doubt that both of them will be especially motivated in tonight’s game, so we can expect to watch some exciting basketball.

SUPPORTING CAST
Milwaukie haven’t changed much of a personnel over the summer, as coach Jason Kidd wanted to continue with the development of a young core around Giannis. Malcom Brogdon is on a good way to become a reliable contributor for the Bucks, and his numbers are getting better after winning Rookie Of The Year last season.

On the other hand, OKC added two All-Stars this summer, as Paul George and Carmelo Anthony formed a super-team with Westbrook. They are still a work in progress, and it will take time for all three to find their comfort zones within themselves. But a team that has this much talent is more than capable to win every game despite their lack of familiarity within the group.

Both teams don’t have many problems with injured players. Greg Monroe will likely be out for two weeks, but unfortunately, this is something that the Bucks are used to in the past few seasons. OKC doesn’t have any player listed as unavailable and will face the Buck with full roster capacity.

WINNING EXPECTATIONS: Keys to winning the game

It’s still early in the season to draw any reliable conclusions about any team’s strengths or weaknesses. But looking at where these two teams currently rank, we can point out some important factors that could be decisive tonight.

The Bucks are leading the league in limiting the opponents’ offensive rebounds (8.7 per game), and are third best in fewest opponent’s total rebounds (42.2). OKC is fourth-best rebounding team in the league, so the battle for rebounds could be one of the deciding factors tonight.

Milwaukie is also second in field goal percentage (sixth in 3-point shots), while the Thunder are third best in defending shots. On the other hand, the Bucks have problems with defending the three-point line, with their opponents making 38.6% (fifth worst in the league). It’s clear that whichever teams manage to shoot better tonight will have big chances to win the game.

H2H STATS: Last time they met…
Last season the two teams split the series, with both teams prevailing on the home court. The Bucks won 98-94 in January, while OKC was merciless in April with 110-79 blowout in Oklahoma. Still, these games were a long time ago, and OKC has a different roster now, so these game shouldn’t be an indicator of tonight’s game outcome.
