St.Johnstone v Celtic Live Stream Premiership

This Saturday, 6-time champions Celtic play visitor to St. Johnstone at McDiarmid Park, Perth. Kick-off is at 12:30 PM and, at present, it looks like it’s going to be a typically rainy Scottish early-afternoon kick-off. The Hoops have struggled at Saints in the past – but will they struggle this time?

SAINTS NEWS
Following a 1-0 loss against Partick Thistle, Saints have dropped to 6th in table, looking over their shoulder rather than further afield. Winless since they beat Hamilton on 23rd September, the club are in a tough spot following a decent start to the season. A lack of goals, persistent injuries and an inability to keep squad turnover successful has seen this season sour somewhat for the Perthshire club.

It’s also likely that top scoring loan Ranger Michael O’Halloran will need to play through the pain barrier. With 5 goals this season, he’s been a catalyst for Saints not sinking without a trace. However, we expect them to continue with their familiar 4-1-4-1 setup, with Paton snapping at Celtic players and a deep defensive line-up.

It’ll be the likes of Scougall, Wotherspoon and O’Halloran who are expected to be the main threats for the Saints.

CELTIC NEWS
Having changed the team around constantly this year, it’s hard to know where manager Brendan Rodgers will come at this game from. Injuries are mounting up, seeing midfielder Nir Bitton playing at the back regularly or being replaced by midfielder Kristoffer Ajer. Celtic are likely to swap the team around, though, with youngster Mikey Johnstone likely to get another shot in the squad after a good cameo last weekend.

In terms of the team, we expect to see a lot of rotation. Goalkeeper Craig Gordon could drop out after another poor performance, and we could see Dorus de Vries return to the fold. In terms of the attack, we expect to see Scott Sinclair drop out after another poor game, and Leigh Griffiths to replace Moussa Dembele who looked shattered.

Jonny Hayes might return to the side in place of Kieran Tierney, who has played many games consecutively. Celtic should line up here in their usual back three, having grown to grips with the formation this season.Rotation is expected, though, as Rodgers likes to keep everyone guessing about who will be at his side.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
The two clubs drew 1-1 when they met in August, and Saints have been a thorn in the side in recent seasons. In fact, their 2-1 reverse against Celtic in May 2016 was the last time the Hoops lost a domestic match.

They also ended a long unbeaten run in 2015, winning at Celtic Park in a surprise encounter. However, Celtic are unbeaten in their last five games against the Perth outfit, winning 4-1, 5-2, 1-0 and 4-2 in 2016/17. How to Watch St.Johnstone v Celtic live streaming match online – 3 steps to follow

MATCH EXPECTATIONS
A tough one to call, but Celtic will be looking to bounce back from a harsh loss at home to Bayern Munich in midweek. They played well and were in fine form, but ran out of gas and were caught at the back. Saints are unlikely to find Celtic in a forgiving mood, though, and their own poor form could see this a tough afternoon for Saints fans.
