Riga Masters snooker tournament is a part of a Players Tour Championship since 2014. It is staged at the Arena Riga in Riga, Latvia. In 2017, Welshman Ryan Day captured the title by beating experienced Scot Stephen Maguire by 5:2 in the final.

The first champion in 2014 was Mark Selby. The Englishman defeated a compatriot Mark Allen by 4:3 in the final. In the following year, we saw another All-England duel in the final and Barry Hawkins defeated Tom Ford by 4:1. In 2016, Neil Robertson brought the first trophy from Riga to Australia, by defeating Englishman Michael Holt by 5:2.

This year's edition of Kaspersky Riga Masters was played from June 23 to June 25 at the Arena Riga, Riga, Latvia.Neil Robertson defended the title won in 2016, but he was defeated in the first round against young German Lucas Kleckers. Many famous players took part in the tournament, including the legend Jimmy White, who defeated Eden Sharav and Kurt Maflin in the first two rounds, but Anthony McGill knocked him out in the last 16.

Ryan Day had a tough opponent in the first round - he defeated Barry Hawkins by 4:3 and everything was easier until the final. Day went on to defeat Robert Milkins by 4:1, Kyren Wilson by 4:3, Joe Perry by 4:0, compatriot Mark Williams by 5:4 and in the final he was better than Steven Maguire by 5:2. This was his fifth final on the ranking events and the first title in his career.
